WHEN? June 6, 8pm
WHERE? Grebel caf.
tl;dr. Come to the Caf at 8pm, June 6th to watch and talk about AI.
In 2016, Google's Go-playing computer "AlphaGo" beat the world champion of the game. It was a landmark accomplishment for artificial intelligence to win a game that had more possible game states than there are atoms in the known universe.
On June 6th we'll be screening the AlphaGo documentary in the Grebel Cafeteria and afterwards we'll host discussions about the future of Artificial Intelligence, particularly focusing on three questions:
1. How do humans relate to computers that are smarter than them?
2. How does our faith and philosophy change with the advent of thinking machines?
3. What can we do in the next ten years to ensure better and safer development of artificial intelligence?
THIS IS THE GREATEST SHOW.
Mystery. Murder. Fun!
There will be music, snacks, games, and best of all - a mystery for you to solve! Everyone will have a role, but absolutely zero acting experience is required. There are a limited number of "major" characters, so please sign up early if you would like one and we will do our best to accommodate everyone! If you have any questions, talk to Angela.
For more information, check out http://www.murderunderthebigtop.com/
PLEASE NOTE: If you request a "major" character and can no longer attend, you NEED to let Angela know asap! All the major characters are required at the event in order to make the mystery run properly so we will need to reassign it to someone else if you can no longer make it.
Deadline for signup (if you want a major character) is WED. MAY 2. Sign-ups after this date are absolutely welcomed, but will likely be assigned "minor" roles.
